Wrongful Death Lawsuit Brought Over Fatal Helicopter Crash

|

When one thinks of air travel, one’s mind might immediately go to airplanes. However, airplanes are not the only type of air transportation vehicle. Another type are helicopters.

It is very important for helicopter pilots and helicopter charter companies to act properly when it comes to helicopter flights. Improper conduct by such parties can lead to helicopter accidents occurring.

Helicopter accidents can result in pilots and passengers suffering great harm. This type of aviation accident can sometimes even result in fatalities.

Recently, in another state, a wrongful death lawsuit has been brought in connection to a deadly helicopter accident.

The accident happened on July 27. That day, a Robinson R66 helicopter that was being piloted by a 30-year-old man and which had a 58-year-old man, a 29-year-old man, a 27-year-old woman and a 3-year-old boy as passengers crashed in Pennsylvania. All five of the above-mentioned individuals were killed in the accident.

The mother of the deceased 3-year-old boy has alleged that negligence/recklessness by a charter company played a role in this accident. According to the woman, the 30-year-old man who piloted the helicopter lacked proper training and the charter company was negligent/reckless in allowing him to fly the craft.

The woman is suing the charter company in relation to these allegations. Damages are being asked for in this lawsuit. One wonders what will happen in this wrongful death case and how it will ultimately be resolved.

If a person has been hurt or has lost a loved one in an aviation accident (whether it be an airplane accident, a helicopter accident or an accident involving some other type of aircraft), he or she may wish to consider speaking to a personal injury attorney. A personal injury attorney can help an accident victim or an accident victim’s family determine if there are any options available to them for seeking relief.
