Alva and Alberta Pilliod, a married couple from Northern California, both developed non-Hodgkin lymphoma they allege was caused by exposure to Monsanto’s Roundup weed killer. According to court documents, Monsanto advertisements previously marketed Roundup as safer than table salt despite scientific evidence linking the herbicide to serious side effects, including cancer.
Currently, there are thousands of Roundup cases against Monsanto by people alleging their own exposure to Roundup and it’s key ingredient, glyphosate, caused them or their loved ones to suffer from non-Hodgkin lymphoma like the Pilliods.
Being named on the National Law Journal’s top-100 verdicts list is a great honor. Its VerdictSearch affiliate assesses the nation’s largest verdicts and cross-references them with practitioners and reports from other ALM Media publications. Thus, the verdict for Pilliod et al. v. Monsanto Company ranking in at No. 2 in the 2019 Edition is a great achievement. Moreover, Attorney R. Brent Wisner worked on another case against Monsanto, Hardeman v. Monsanto Company, which was ranked as 2019’s 34th highest verdict.
